Process is a gift, not a burden.
Let me start by saying this: being in process is not a set back. God never designed it to stifle your growth! He designed it to prepare you for the good things to come. I believe once we adopt the mindset that the journey is for us and not against us, we still begin to thrive in that very season.
Think about it, a baby is never born running. They need time to learn its surroundings, to get nurtured, to became familiar with the people around them. Process actually protects the baby. It creates boundary’s so that it can learn in a healthy and safe environment. We would never look at a baby and scold it for not being able to run at 5 months. We need to embrace this similar mindset that process is actually setting us up for success in the long run.
“…my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9.
I love this verse in Isaiah because it tell’s me that God is actually dreaming something much bigger and better than what I have thought of. God’s heart is for us to thrive. He doesn’t use process as punishment. It’s His gift to us. If we can see that God is a really good Father, and that He truly wants the very best for us, this thought that its meant to be a gift and not a burden will become more obvious.
Trust and surrender. Those two words will carry us through absolutely any season. Trust that God is good. Trust that His ways are higher than your ways. Trust that God gives ” …exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask think or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20). Letting go of what we think our process needs to look like is so important. Surrender the need to understand and have it all figured out! That alone will take off so much unnecessary pressure.
Be encouraged! Know that your season of process is part of your beautiful story that is continually unravelling. You were born for such a time as this. You are not ten steps back. Keep your head up, know that your step by step is making a difference and an impact for your life and the generations after you. Keep moving forward and trust along the way that God is with you and for you.
